Hamshire is rice-farming country — flat coastal prairie along 124 that’s been worked for over a century, where farmers historically rotated rice with crawfish on ground that holds water by design. It’s a beautiful place to have land and a demanding place to pour concrete: the same flat, slow-draining prairie that grows rice will sit water against a slab that wasn’t graded right.

Yes — with the right prep. We build up and grade the pad site so it drains, compact select fill that stays solid when the surrounding prairie is wet, and reinforce the pour. Rice country ground can absolutely carry good concrete; it just can’t be poured on as-is.
