Groves grew up fast — from a pecan-grove settlement to a full town of 1970s ranch homes in a single generation. Those 5,000-plus houses are the story of our work here: original driveways, patios, and walks now 50 years old on clay soil, plus everything the storms have added. Harvey alone impacted some 2,400–2,500 Groves homes, hitting the south side around 32nd Street and the Taft school area hardest.
That mix means Groves jobs come in two flavors: age-outs (the cracked original driveway that’s finally done) and rebuilds (concrete that flood recovery work never quite got to). Either way the fix is the same — tear out, correct and compact the base, pour new with steel, and set grades that shed water, because this flat ground doesn’t forgive slabs that hold it.
